The division is engaged in R&D activities pertaining to post harvest needs of the agro sector. The group specializes in development of sensors and systems for quality analysis of agro produce. The group also specializes in development of artificial intelligence platforms for data and sensor fusion for agro applications. This year the group has successfully developed methods for acrylamide detection in fried potatoes and an immunochemical based system for detection of explosives. The group is currently involved in development of sensing platforms for toxic substances in food items, sensors for indication of edible oil spoilage, point of care devices for cardiac biomakers, biomaterials, gas sensing system for livestock health monitoring.
